Year 10 first unit

Students in KS3 receive 6 compulsory core PE lessons a fortnight with a curriculum covering a wide range of different sports.

The PE Students in KS4 receive 4 compulsory core PE lessons in a fortnight.

    Year 9 Netball Team

Our offsite sports facilities include Kings Oak Primary, Bedford International Athletics Stadium and the Bunyan Centre. Students have a wide range of extra-curricular activities to choose from including handball, netball, free running, basketball, fitness, football, cricket and many more. The school compete fully in the district competition calendar in all year groups with both boys and girls. The PE department also gives students a chance to take part in sports leadership.

Our best sports leaders also take part in the School Sports Partnership Leadership Academy where each student receives specific leadership qualifications in a range of different sports.

  Year 7 Football Team


In KS4 we offer GCSE PE as an option. At present the course is 60% practical and 40% theory assessed. During practical lessons students study a range of sports in depth, looking specifically at rules, regulations, tactics and analysis of performance. During theory lessons students study the effects of exercise on the body both short term and long term. They also study why people take part in sport and what influences them to choose the sports that they do.





















PE Trips

Each term there are PE trips to watch professional sport including;

MK Dons F.C. Games

Northants T25 Cricket and Hertfordshire Mavericks Netball.

This year our year 7 have also visited the Sky Sports studios to take part in the TV show GAME CHANGERS!
