I would like to extend you a very warm welcome to Bedford Free School (BFS).
Pupils and families are invited to visit BFS in action! There will be a formal Open Evening on Thursday 21st September 2023 between 5pm and 8.30pm and I will be giving a presentation at 5.45pm, 6.30pm and 7.15pm.

All applications for places at Bedford Free School are made in accordance with the Local Authority’s coordinated admission arrangements and will be made on the common application form provided and administered by the Local Authority. Places are allocated according to our admissions criteria. BFS Admissions Policy 2024-25
You can apply online through the Bedford Borough website: Transfer to secondary school applications.
Once Bedford Borough has processed your application and a place is allocated, it will be forwarded to us here at Bedford Free School. Once a place is confirmed a member of our Pastoral Team will then contact you to arrange an initial 1-1 meeting.
The deadline for all secondary school applications is 31st October 2023.
